AirAsia Bhd said 51.92 per cent of its issued and paid-up share capital of 2.78 billion ordinary shares of 10 sen each were held by foreigners as at June 28 2013 report Business Times.
The airline said the percentage of shares held by foreigners exceeded the limit of 45 per cent of total issued and paid-up share capital.

“Pursuant to the Securities Industry Regulations 1996, shares held by foreigners which are within the prescribed limit will be entitled to all rights and entitlements.”
However, shares held by foreigners which have exceeded the prescribed limit shall also be entitled to all rights and entitlements except for voting rights,” AirAsia said.
